The Perfect Intern

Today is day 121 in my search for the perfect intern- my search is finally complete.

Meet Ms. Jessica Yu

In two years, she graduated from the University of California in Irvine with the a degree in International Studies, emphasizing the relations between states and non state actors through the media and international organizations.

Simultaneously, she represented numerous top agencies in event marketing for clients such as Verizon Wireless, Pepsi, At&t, Salvation Army, PG&E, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Amtrak, Angels Baseball, Aetna Health Care, the US Army, McDonalds, Target, Bank Of America, and Samsung to name a few. Each agency has an event database of up to 30,000 people. In less than a year, Jessica managed to establish a relationship with the event executives in each firm given her reliability and dependability.

Although event marketing may not be directly related to public relations, the experience and knowledge she gained will be an asset to my firm.

First, she understands the importance of client relationships. Building a strong and trusting relationship with my clients is a top priority for me. If they can not trust my firm and my opinion, they can not possibly pay me to control the public's perception of them.

Second, she understands the value of hard work. Having graduated from a top tier University while working full time to pay for her school expenses, car, and rent- I would not doubt that she will carry her weight and even some of mine.

Third, she has proven to be a problem solver. Event marketing is filled with issues that need to be resolved. Jessica rose to the top because she solves all issues that come up, allowing the event to run smoothly and successfully.

Fourth, she is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, opening opportunities for me to tap into the growing Asian American marketing.

Finally, she is a sweet girl with a big heart- people feel happier when she is around and who wouldn't want that?
